Day 1: Cairo
Our fascinating journey into the depths of Egyptian culture and history begins at the vibrant capital, Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel by a Ciconia representative at the airport. Day 2: Cairo, Alexandria
As we drive alongside the Nile towards the Mediterranean to Alexandria, kickstart your cultural adventure stopping at the gorgeous Coptic Monasteries at Wadi el Natrun (if open). Plentiful chances await to dive deep into history, stroll the shopping streets and taste excellent local seafood. Comfortably pacing our trip, we rest at Alexandria tonight after a delicious Egyptian dinner.

Day 3: Alexandria, Cairo
It is time to explore this ancient city of utmost importance, home to the ruins of the Great Library and Lighthouse of Alexandria – one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Join your Tour Director for a guided walking tour covering all the must-sees of the lively port town, visit the ancient acropolis and Roman Amphitheatre. Day 5: Cairo, Luxor (by flight)
Following a hefty breakfast, transfer to the airport for a seamless journey to Luxor, where you will start your discovery of various marvellous civilizations of the Nile. Walk the remnants of much-fabled ancient Thebes through the Avenue of the Sphinx and visit Temple of Amun, the dazzling Karnak Temple and the remarkable Luxor Museum. Here you can find an astonishing display of artefacts and items from various era, including pieces from Tutankhamun’s famed tomb. Check in your hotel for a comfortable night’s rest following dinner. Alternatively, you may enjoy a sound & light show at Karnak Temple.

Day 6: Luxor

Upon returning back to Luxor in late afternoon, you may continue exploring the sights or relax at the hotel, scrolling through your camera reel full of wonders.

Day 7: Luxor, Dahabeya Nile Cruise
After travelling to Esna, embark your home for the next 4 days of our delightful cultural adventure. Gently sailing down the Nile in elegance and style, uncover the dazzling wonders scattered across its banks. Day 8: Dahabeya Nile Cruise
Relax at the sundeck whilst we sail to Edfu to visit the fascinatingly well-preserved temple of Horus, the falcon god. Buried underground for hundreds of years, the wondrous temple’s inner sections are covered in ancient text wall to wall; a library carved in stone with detail. Continue sailing towards Wadi El Shat, where we dock at a lovely island. Join your Travel Director for a walking tour through the desert and the surrounding small villages.

Day 9: Dahabeya Nile Cruise
Soak in the warming Egyptian sun as we sail to Gebel el-Silsila to visit the rock-cut chapels of Seti I, Ramesses II, Merenptah and Horemheb, and the remnants of the ancient sandstone quarries. Then sail upstream to where time almost hasn’t moved for a thousand years, Kom Ombo. Explore the stunning ancient dual temple of Sobek and Haroeris with your Egyptologist Travel Director and recharge at the deck of your Dahabiya as we head to the charming Maniha. Enjoy a stunning sunset followed by a campfire along the Nile with the locals and dinner.

Day 10: Dahabeya Nile Cruise
Cruising gently to the village of Daraw, a desert post once frequented by traders after a 40-day journey through the Libyan Desert. Exploring the serene trading village and the camel market, we return to our Dahabiya and set sail to Koubania. Stroll the lovely gardens of citrus and mango trees and embrace the desert culture at the Nubian village near Aswan. Savour your final night onboard the charming Dahabiya over a tasteful Egyptian dinner.

Day 11: Dahabeya Nile Cruise , Aswan
Sailing to Aswan in deluxe style, it is time to experience the unique traditional feluccas that were used to transport on the Nile for centuries. Changing to our charming felucca in Aswan, we set sail toward the impressive Kitchener Island to visit the lifeful Botanical Gardens, mighty Aswan Dam and the splendid monuments scattered around. Sampling sights as the Temple of Isis – the divine mother of the pharaohs, the semi-carved Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple, complete your discovery of the Nile and its fascinating sights. Return to Aswan for a comfortable night’s rest at your hotel.

Day 12: Aswan, Abu Simbel, Cairo (by flight)
Following a hefty breakfast, we will explore the marvellous Abu Simbel Temple on a fantastic excursion. A must-see for all history and archaeology enthusiasts, discover the two massive temples carved into the bedrock in impressive detail to honour the rule of Pharaoh Ramesses II and his queen Nefertari. As you get your dose of cultural adventure, transfer to the airport for a comfortable and quick flight to Cairo, saving much-valuable time for discovery. Checking into the Cairo hotel in the afternoon, spend your personal leisure time wisely. You can haggle for lovely souvenirs, trek your preferred routes across town, and bond with the local culture by joining an Egyptian Dinner afloat the Nile.

Day 13: Cairo
After a relaxing rest, we continue our in-depth discovery into vibrant Cairo and its countless treasures - allowing plenty of time for you to savour your adventure at ease. Stroll the city with our expert local guide on the second leg of our sightseeing tour. Visit the immense collection of ancient artefacts at the Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Saladin, Mosque of Mohammed Ali, Hanging Church, and the buzzing famous bazaar of Khan el-Khalili. Late in the afternoon, you may discover the city on your own terms to have a final visit to your preferred sights and cement your favourite moments. Your seat for dinner is reserved at your hotel in the evening.
